Went on beautifully. My experience as well. I did also have that round part in the middle that sank even after baking it for 35 min. It turns out Im among the few. Watch. Ive made this cake many times and LOVE it. If/when I do, Ill report back. Also, the only thing I used instead of corn syrup was pancake syrup all 3 times. I added 2 TBSP of corn syrup to the glaze. Started this on a whim at 9:15pm, wanting to try out my new 6 cake pans. Which based on research can be from to high of a temp. Thanks for another fabulous recipe Deb! The proportions are completely off on this recipe. Its one of the best chocolate cakes Ive ever made. When I went to cut the cake, the glaze cracked and it made for messy serving. (Vegans can use vegan choc chips & buttery spread, of course.). I made this with King Arthur Gluten Free flour and it did not turn out well, I actually had to throw it away. Its still delicious, by the way. This cake is obscenely delicious. Any suggestions to help with the sticking to the pan the next time? Thanks for this treat Deb, happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I also used 1 cup of coffee, a half cup of water, rather than 1/5 cups of water, and that, too, worked beautifully. I live in a rather humid environment.

I follow a ketogenic diet, do you think almond or coconut flour would hold up well in the recipe? I can honestly say that I have never baked 2 cakes in one week, let alone the same cake, unless maybe it was a holiday and I had a house full of guests, but I doubt even then.

If you forget it, and the cake cools completely (tho *Ive* never done that, yeah, right), run a spatula or knife around the outside of the cake to be sure its not stuck to the pan, and heat a stove burner on low.
